There is a myriad of characters in the pits at a supercross race, but there is only one who won the "2012 Innovation Award" from Feld Motorsports: Kenny Watson—Team Manager for the Hart and Huntington/Dodge/Sycuan Casino team. Considering that he lost all four of his riders to injuries throughout the season, Kenny's team receiving the award is impressive.
The brash Californian has gone from a blue-haired mechanic for fledgling satellite teams to team manager of arguably one of the most commercially successful satellite teams ever and co-host of the very popular PulpMX Show with Steve Matthes. Whether you love or hate Kenny, you have to respect his position in the sport and his outside the box thinking that seems to keep him there.
Steve Matthes interviewed Kenny for RacerX, and their hot and cold relationship came through the same in text as it does over the radio. The two are very different people and their button pushing is what often keeps us listening. In the interview, the two talk about H&H's rough year with injuries, winning the award and, most importantly, H&H's future plans to race all the outdoors in 2013. Yep, H&H will be crashing the outdoor pit party in 2013.
