Le Cobra Strikes!
Racer X has this cool column that cronicles the week in Yamaha history (I did a bunch of these when they were Kawasaki history and I imagine I'll do some of these- they are fun to look back and contact the guys) and this week Jason Weigandt looked back at Phoenix 2000. I was at this race and working for Kelly Smith who rode the KTM 520 and made what I believe was his first big bike main. It was hard to pitboard for Smith while watching this #934 with a funky riding style cut through the pack and somehow, incredibly catch and pass Jeremy McGrath.
But he did. You could've heard a pin drop in the dome because that never, ever, ever, happened to Jeremy McGrath. It was a night I'll never forget and in THIS STORY, Vuillemin tells us all about it.
